Honoring Sgt Lucas T. Pyeatt

The Sgt Lucas T. Pyeatt Memorial Golf Tournament exists to honor a Marine who gave his life protecting his fellow US Marines and to ensure that his sacrifice—and the sacrifices of all who have served—are never forgotten. Now in its 8th year, this tournament transforms remembrance into meaningful action by directly supporting Marines, veterans, and their families through programs that strengthen community and preserve Marine Corps legacy.

Sgt Pyeatt’s final letter home captured the essence of service and selflessness: “I’m here where I belong doing what I am supposed to be doing. I have no regrets...” These words continue to inspire the mission behind this event. Proceeds from the tournament fund the Foundation’s VOICE Program, expand outreach to veterans and active-duty Marines, and support youth education initiatives that connect future generations to the values of honor, courage, and commitment.

This tournament also plays a vital role in advancing long-term legacy projects, including the Marine Spirit Monument—the first monument of its kind to be placed aboard a West Coast Marine Corps base at MCRD San Diego. By participating or partnering with this event, supporters help create a lasting tribute to service while strengthening the bond between the Marine Corps and the communities it serves.

How to find the Golf Course

Follow the directions shown on the map. When you get onto Admiral Baker Road, you’ll come to a stop sign — go straight at the stop sign. Continue down the road as it curves to the right.

At the end of the curve, you’ll see a large parking lot with a building — park in that lot. Then, walk around the building on the right side and go down a slight hill. You’ll see where the golf carts are parked, with a staircase to your left. Go up the staircase to reach our check-in table.

There will also be signs at the building to help direct you to the check-in table.
