Immediate Past President BOD ![P Atterbury](https://www.mcrdmuseumfoundation.org/hubfs/MCRD_Museum_March_2024/Images/paul_h._atterbury_v3.jpg)Paul is an attorney with professional experiences that are distinguished by operational law, investigations and criminal litigation, as well as writing and analyst responsibilities that collectively have a nexus to national security.  Paul is a retired Marine; highest rank served, Colonel.  Overseas military service includes operational law assignments with U.S. Armed Forces deployed in the Pacific Rim as well as combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Investigations and criminal litigation experience includes high-profile cases of alleged misconduct during combat operations and felony charges against servicemembers in garrison.  Writing experience includes tours of duty on the writing teams for the 32nd and 33rd Commandants of the Marine Corps; initial draft writer for a Marine Corps Warfighting Publication; and, First Place winner of the Marine Corps Association and Foundation’s General Robert E.
